Chic & Cheap Lifestyles is an affordable lifestyle blog about living the good life on a budget; I am a firm believer that a strict budget shouldn’t keep you from dressing in the latest trends or exploring the Amalfi Coast. With a background in finance, I know how important it is to have fashion “cents” – so sharing affordable fashion and beauty ideas, decor for less and travel tips that won’t break the budget is what my blog is all about. It’s all about living a fabulously chic, but cheap lifestyle!
Frequently Asked Questions…
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging a few years ago because I got so sick of seeing cute outfits and then checking out the price tags – and the dress costing $500! I wanted to be a resource for people to prove that you can look and feel good on any budget! I also am a die hard TJMaxx and Gabe’s Stores fans – so I love searching for bargains and sharing them with my followers!
Do you blog full time?
I do not! I actually work full time as a corporate tax manager for a large company headquartered in Pittsburgh. Since I work in finance, I use some of the knowledge and expertise in my series “fashion cents” where I share finance and budget tips. I started blogging as a creative escape from my day job since staring at excel screens all day can get boring!
Where do you love to shop?
My favorite places to shop are TJmaxx, Homegoods, Old Navy, Forever 21, H&M, Gabe’s Stores, and Ross Dress for Less. I love hunting for a bargain! I also long finding affordable items at Target and Walmart. Online, I love finding trendy pieces at Boohoo, Missguided, and Shein.
Top tips to save money on clothing?
Classic pieces and mix and match! Try to stick with a color palette than you know you can mix it up with! Neutrals are good – like a pair of black leggings, denim, and white jeans would be perfect to mix with so many different peices! Additionally, make sure to check out stores like TJMaxx where you can find deisgner brands for less. Also keep an eye out for mid season sales at Nordstrom, H&M, and Forever 21 where you definitely will be able to find some nice quality things! I don’t splurge on trendy pieces or shoes as I just don’t think its worth it!
