I was not going to pay over $50 for a small twig tree with lights, so I hacked it! I found this kind of boring one from Aldi, added some epsom salts for a frosted branch effect along with a frosted pinecone stem from Joann Fabrics, and voila, a twig tree for less! What do you think? •

1. Upcycle! Grab some acrylic paint (as little as $.50 from @michaelsstores ) and baking soda and paint your ornaments!
2. Add velvet ribbon everywhere! You can also get this for relatively cheap and it adds such a nice touch to garland, wreaths,etc
3. Dried fruit! Grapefruit, oranges, make such cute ornaments and decor! Slice thin and bake for 2-3 hours at 215, flipping every 15 minutes.
4. Swap your pictures for holiday prints. This adds such a great touch to your decor! Print at home or Staples or Walgreens for under $10!
5. Forage! Cut down some pine for some fresh garland. Soak in water for 24 hours and mist every few days to make it last!
