I’ve always tried to surround myself with great women; I come from a family where my aunts are super bossy (In a good way!!!), and love to take charge. My older sister is pretty bold. My sisters are super, super supportive of everything I have done. My mom always let us girls be whatever we wanted, so I know the importance of surrounding yourself with amazing women to push you to exceed, challenge you, and support you in every way! My post doesn’t have to pertain to blogging, but the network I have built through blogging just solidifies these ideals even more – I think it’s harder, being older and out of college, to make good, solid girlfriends. But I think as we get older, it’s even more important to cultivate and keep these friendships.

In college, it was super easy to make friends. I remember freshmen year of college we had a huge gang of friends, especially because we were all in the same boat – starting something new, a new chapter in our lives, so everyone was super eager to get out there and make friends. Or, sometimes you are forced into making friends in college: sororities, roommates, group projects. I am lucky enough that one of my very first roommates is still one of my very best friends even though she lives two hours away.
As I get older, I realize how important female friendships are, and why you need to find yourself a really, really good girl gang that you can bounce ideas off of, complain to, vent to, and share in successes with. Trust me, my husband doesn’t want to hear about what Stassi from Vanderpump Rules did on the show, or listen to me complain about how the Instagram algorithm is killing my engagement. He just doesn’t get it! So why are these relationships so important?
Motivation
In the blogging world, you are most likely your own boss. Finding motivation can be impossible sometimes..trust me, some days I want to lay on the couch and watch TV and not even touch my computer. But my girl gang keeps me motivated; whether it’s telling me they loved my latest outfit or love my idea for my next post. I also bounce ideas off of them, and get their support – so its super motivating to have girls that want to support me and motivate me to do better!

Makes you Hustle Even Harder
In the blogging world, I have surrounded myself with females that want to succeed. These girls are always out there hustling, looking for the next opportunity, bouncing crazy (or not so crazy) ideas off of each other. When something doesn’t work, we ask each other “what can we do next time to make it better?” When something does work, we are right by eachother’s side, congratulating each other on a job well done. The, onto the next success!
Support System
We all have bad days. This one seems obvious, but when you have a bad day, you need someone who will be there for you. You need someone you can bitch and vent to and they will just listen, and not care how much time you take. My sister and I always joke that we need each other to talk us off the ledge. We can be dramatic, right? It helps to have friends that will talk you down, put things into perspective, and tell you its going to be okay (because it IS!)
FUN
If there is one thing I can say about all the girls in my life, is that they are FUN. Whether we are out at a night club in Croatia together listening to EDM (WHICH I HATE lol), attending an opening of a local boutique, or just grabbing coffee, I am always laughing and smiling. Surround yourself with these types of girls. Surround yourself with girls you can’t WAIT to see, to have brunch with, to travel with. These are the kinds you need to have around!
It may have taken a while, and have had to weed out the bad seeds in between, but I am so thankful to be surrounded by such great girls in my life. They always push me to do better, be better, and bring me back to reality, in a good way of course. So if you’re in my girl gang, thank you. From the bottom of my heart – I wouldn’t be where I am without you!
